The founder behind nAIce

nAIce is built by Johannes Schaffer, a founder from Dietmannsried in southern Germany who has been building software for businesses for years.

He started nAIce with one conviction: German businesses deserve their own AI — one that runs on German infrastructure and stays under their control.

Johannes has spent years building software that businesses actually run on. Through SantosLab, the custom software studio he founded, he watched up close how much of the German Mittelstand depends on tools that live in someone else’s cloud — under someone else’s rules.

He started nAIce because there was no German answer to the AI agents coming out of the US. No product that runs on German infrastructure, respects DSGVO, and gives a business an AI employee it actually controls. So he built one.

Why we’re building nAIce

Every business now has access to the same AI that once lived only in Silicon Valley research labs. But almost all of it runs on US cloud infrastructure, through US companies, under US rules. For German businesses, that’s not just inconvenient — it’s a data sovereignty problem.

nAIce exists so you don’t have to choose between capability and control. Your own AI employee, running on German infrastructure, protected by DSGVO — independent from the big American platforms.
